R. Spencer Potts
Global Head of Marketing

R. Spencer Potts joined MidOcean in 2016 as Global Head of Marketing with a career spanning 25 years in capital markets / financial services. Mr. Potts' last 15 years have been specifically dedicated to the portfolio construction and marketing of institutional investment portfolios centered around alternative assets including hedge funds, private equity, real estate & venture capital.

Previously, Mr. Potts was Head of Business Development at CIFC.  Earlier, Mr. Potts was a Managing Member and Head of Business Development for Silver Creek Capital LLC.  Prior to joining Silver Creek, Mr. Potts was a director within Merrill Lynch's Hedge Fund Origination Group (2004), both sourcing and marketing institutional hedge-fund portfolios. 

Prior to Merrill Lynch, Mr. Potts was a portfolio manager with Pinnacle Asset Management (11/01-5/04), a New York-based fund-of-hedge-funds group. 

Mr. Potts is Capital Chair for New York City's largest poverty frontline center, The River Fund New York (, and is an active board member for an emerging ad/tech company, Plyfe (, and for the University of New Hampshire Foundation supporting the "R. Spencer Potts '92 Scholarship Fund". 

Mr. Potts holds a B.A. in History from the University of New Hampshire.


Christopher Cichella
Managing Director

Christopher Cichella joined MidOcean Partners as a Managing Director in 2012 and focuses on client development and investor relations. Previously, Mr. Cichella had opened an East Coast office and led client development at Dorchester Capital Advisors LLC, an alternatives boutique in Los Angeles. Prior to Dorchester, he had led business development in various client channels at a fund-of-funds manager Tremont Capital Management, Inc. Earlier, he focused on multi-client family offices at CSFB, Schwab Institutional and Fidelity Capital Markets. Mr. Cichella has a BA in political science and Russian studies from Duke University.


Michael P. Considine
Managing Director

Michael Considine joined MidOcean Partners in 2008 and is responsible for Marketing and Investor Relations for MidOcean as well as for business development. Prior to joining MidOcean he was a Managing Director at StoneWater Capital, where he headed Marketing and Investor Relations and was involved in business development and expanding distribution channels for the firm. Earlier, Mr. Considine oversaw investment banking at Hamilton Securities Group, a boutique firm, and previously he led the investment banking group at Auerbach, Pollak & Richardson. He holds a BA in History, magna cum laude, from Columbia University and an MBA in Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.


Ruth Lane
Head of Investor Relations

Ruth Lane joined MidOcean in 2016 as Head of Investor Relations. Previously, Ms. Lane was Head of Investor Relations at CIFC Asset Management. Prior to CIFC, Ms. Lane was Associate Director of Marketing & Investor Relations at Mount Kellett Capital Management. Earlier, she focused on research sales & trading at Credit Suisse. Ms. Lane holds a BA in politics from Princeton University.


Rebecca Carr-Harris
Vice President

Rebecca Carr-Harris joined MidOcean Partners in January 2015 and focuses on Marketing and Investor Relations. Prior to joining MidOcean, Ms. Carr-Harris was at Russell Investments in Client Relations, working with pensions, endowments and foundations on asset allocation and performance evaluation. Prior to that, Ms. Carr-Harris was at PineBridge Investments and Bloomberg LP. Ms. Carr-Harris holds a B.A. from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.


Ross Valvano

Ross Valvano joined MidOcean Partners in 2011 and focuses on Marketing and Investor Relations. Prior to joining MidOcean, Mr. Valvano worked in investment banking at Jefferies & Co. as an analyst in the Fund Placement Group. Mr. Valvano holds a B.S. in Finance from Boston College.
